We got to Miss Justine’s late Sunday night and I was greeted by a bunch of beasts. Two cats named Lorenzo (no relation) and Hadley (total bitch) and then sweet sweet Syla. Apparently this was Catlins dog growing up and she was awesome. She is 16, so nice and protected me from those frisky felines who basically began to haze me as soon as I walked through the door but Syla wasn’t having any of it. I was very happy to meet her.

Justine looked great and was very happy to see us. Her home is cute and in North Asheville. We woke and headed to the place where she worked Luella’s BBQ and let me tell you that BBQ was paw lickin good!
Justine then took us through the backwoods of NC to Chinney Rock where Last of the Mohicans was filmed. Great spot but a total rip off- we started calling it Rip off Rock cause it was $15 a person to stand on a rock. No thanks, we took a picture from afar and went swimming in Lake Lure!

This backcountry is pretty amazing including all the apple orchards here. Legend had it the tale of Johnny Appleseed started here and something the historians don’t tell you is he was quite the swindler. His image isn’t as squeaky clean as we all thought!
Justine then took us to meet her friend Thomas and Floto at the local Brewery called Highland. The beer was yummy and we got a tour of the factory. Very cool. My whiskers were frothing with beer and I got quite tipsy!

We ended up going out to dinner with a bunch of Justine’s friends in DT Asheville. Dinner was great and we had a dance party at Justine’s after. I was really tuckered out and needed my beauty rest cause the next day we are going to see Frannie!
It was really sad to say goodbye to my hound companion and I even shed a kitty tear.
